Redoubt of the Threefold God

Redoubt of the Threefold God

Even before the Luskan invasion of Neverwinter in the Year of Wild Magic (340 NR, 1372 DR), a temple to Tyr stood in the Beggar’s Nest. It was rebuilt after the war, but largely abandoned when Tyr abdicated his divinity after the Spellplague. After the eruption of Mount Hotenow in the Year of Knowledge Unearthed (419 NR, 1451 DR), though, several paladins and clerics from the Eye of Justice arrived in the city to reclaim it. They are believers in the Threefold God, the heretical belief that Helm, Tyr, and Torm are all, in fact, the same god. The group that arrived to reclaim the temple were quite militant and intent on turning the old temple into a fortress that would stand as a forward base against the monsters emerging from the Chasm. They receive no help from the outside, but they are warmly welcomed by the fighters on the Wall when they do meet, recognizing that the paladins are fighting a constantly, deadly battle that helps safeguard the people of Neverwinter.

The temple stands next door to the Shining Serpent Inn, whose owner, Geth, sees keeping the inn open as a family obligation to provide a safe haven for Neverwinter in times of crisis. The Eye of Justice formed an alliance with him as soon as they moved in. They extend their protection to his inn, while he acts generally as an infirmary for them when they rescue travelers or other unfortunates from the monsters that surround them.
