The empire of Illefarn arose in the First Flowering and even survived the Crown Wars. When, after countless millennia, it did fall, a smaller kingdom called Iliyanbruen took hold of Neverwinter Wood. Many of its people slipped into the Feywild, and in time Iliyanbruen disappeared from Faerûn. In the Feywild, the Iliyanbruen entered into an alliance with Mithrendain against an archfey of the Winter Court called the Prince of Frost. With the fall of Mithrendain and the defeat of the Prince of Frost, many eladrin from the Autumn City came to take the place of the People of the Autumn in Faerûn, whom the Prince of Frost had destroyed. The Iliyanbruen, too, returned to Faerûn, but there they found their ancient kingdom not only in ruins but looted and despoiled. When they discovered that Netheril was behind the crime, they went to war against them.

Win the War: Micar’eyl Auvrymtor and Caeradwyn Laelithar helped reveal that Sharandar was despoiled by Netheril, as part of their efforts to repair Xinlenal’s mythallar. The Iliyanbruen went to war against the Shadovar, finding allies in New Neverwinter and the Forsworn, and quickly expanding to draw in Waterdeep, Cormyr, Cormanthor, the Dalelands, and Luruar. The Alliance looks to Iliyanbruen to lead the front in Neverwinter Wood against Prince Clariburnus Tanthul and the Netherese expedition there. Within days, though, Iliyanbruen’s enemies in the Feywild — the spriggans and other dark fey, led by a coven of hags — began attacking New Sharandar, putting them on the defensive on two fronts simultaneously. Are the dark fey working with the Netherese, or simply taking advantage of the situation? Either way, Iliyanbruen’s top concern now is winning the war against Netheril and gaining revenge for the despoiling of Sharandar.
Rebuild Sharandar: The Iliyanbruen have returned to Faerûn. They are committed to rebuilding their ancient capital of Sharandar. This is made more difficult not only by the natural decay of centuries and the depredations of looters and treasure hunters over that time, but even more so by Netheril’s concerted efforts to empty the ancient vaults of any magical items, relics, or treasures that might provide them with the residuum they needed to restore Xinlenal’s mythallar.
